Wearable Arts

On September 27th, Woolston School held its own Wearable Arts Show.

Each class created five outfits, one for each of the categories - Simply Red, The World We Live In, Reach for the Stars, Glitz & Glamour and Myths & Legends.

The students presented a variety of creations designed and constructed by tamariki ranging in age from 5 years to 12 years.

The students worked in groups to design their creations from readily found materials and experimented with various ways to join these materials; then created their designs based on drawings and plans they had made.

We had a matinee in the afternoon followed by an evening performance.

School is Back for 2012

School has resumed and both the grounds and the students are looking great.

We welcomed more than 30 new pupils at a pōwhiri in the first week.

Our students have been delighted to play on the new playground markings added to our court area over the holidays. Here is Pīwakawaka 3 playing a game on one of the markings.

A new company has added lots of exciting new markings for students to play on.
Here they are marking out Gutterball.

The sandpit is very popular too.
